Workplace Spirituality, Work-Family Conflict, Perceived Organizational Support and Employee Well-Being among Hotel Employees

Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing employee well-being among employees. Specifically, the study is conducted to examine the relationships between workplace spirituality, work-family conflict, perceived organizational support, and employee well-being among hotel’s employees in Perak, Malaysia. A total of 140 questionnaires were used for data analysis. Pearson correlation analysis shows that workplace spirituality and perceived organizational support have positive relationships to employee well-being, and work-family conflict has a negative relationship to employee well-being. Based on multiple regression analysis, the study found that two independent variables, which are workplace spirituality and work-family conflict, have significant relationships with employee well-being among hotel’s employees. Meanwhile, perceived organizational support have no significant relationship with employee well-being. The implications and limitations of the study are also presented.

Establishing the Link between Management Practise, Employees’ Ability and Workforce Productivity: A Case of UK’s Telecom Sector

Abstract: Workforce productivity had been affected by many different factors in organisations around the globe. There have been many instances in different organisations workforce that has affected their productivity level. Current research looks into the management practices and the ability of employees working in the telecommunication sector of the UK for analysing their linkage with workforce productivity. The use of different management practices has been directly linked with workforce productivity in the telecommunication sector of the UK. The current study uses quantitative primary measures for collecting and analysing the research data. The developed results of the research support all the developed hypotheses of the research that were established to measure the direct impact of employee ability and management practices of the telecommunication sector on workforce productivity. The collected data was analysed through the use of statistical measures of descriptive analysis, regression analysis, and correlation analysis. The developed research results accept the alternate hypotheses developed in the research body.

Impact of Turnover on Organizational Efficiency: A Case Study of Dawlance Company

Abstract: The research is conducted to investigate and analyse the impact of employee turnover on organizational effectiveness and employee performance, this study also highlights those factors which makes the employees less comfortable in DS Motors (Unique) Hyderabad Pakistan and provide possible solutions to reduce employee turnover. In this study we examine the increasing ratio of employee’s turnover in DS Motors (Unique) that observed in the last couple of years. High rate of employee turnover negatively affects the organizational efficiency and decreases the productivity of the organization. The cooperative sampling strategy was used to select the participants/respondents. Self-administered survey questionnaires were distributed among 166 employees of DS Motors from which 135 were returned in a useful condition. SPSS (version 20.0) was utilized for statistical data analysis. The study findings suggest that salary is one of the reasons of employee turnover in DS Motors. The results of the study highlight that increasing rate of employee turnover increased workload to present employees of the organization. The evidences found in this study also highlights that high employee turnover reduce the productivity and quality of the product produced in the organization. The findings also highlight that employee turnover may cause customer dissatisfaction and disrupts the delivery of the products and reduce service provisions. Other findings suggested that poor and unhealthy working conditions and lack of advancement opportunities increase employee turnover in the organization. The recommendations highlighted in this study that top management must provide competitive remuneration to the employees of the organization and need to create career development opportunities and develop a communication network between employees and management of the organization. This study concludes with the future direction of the research.

Examining the Mediating Role of Innovativeness on the Relationship between Innovation Strategy, Atmosphere, Culture and Performance of Hotel Industry in Thailand: A Pilot Study

Abstract: Pilot study is an essential initial step of a survey. The paper aims to explore the validity and reliability of the instrument in the pilot study stage before implementing large scale study of the mediating role of innovativeness between innovation strategy, organizational atmosphere, organizational culture and hotel performance in Thailand. The data were collected from 60 three to five stars hotel in Thailand. In this study using PLS-SEM 3.2.8 software for data analysis. The main results of the study found that content validity greater than 0.90, the cronbach’s alpha coefficient value of all the five constructs ranged from 0.747 to 0.928. Furthermore, the results of the composite reliability were above 0.70 which is acceptable confirmed that the instruments have a good reliability. Additionally, the results confirmed that the instruments were fit to be used for the actual study.

SUnderstanding Change: A Critical Review of Literature

Abstract: The current paper has attempted to shed light on the concept of change and the prominent models that can be of value for managerial authorities to bring transformation in their business. the paper sheds light on change which is refers to the continuous modifications that an organisation or individuals make to deal with adjustments in any matter. The paper highlights that although there are no static models of change yet still, some prominent perspectives and frameworks can be considered for top management and decision making bodies to make sense of the concept of change and work on developing policies and practices to ensure they remain competitive. The article discusses the idea forwarded by Lewin for change which catered to three stages at the first place. Following to this, the article discusses Burke and Litwin model of change that has been widely considered for business sectors for change management. Towards the end, the article discusses the ADKAR model of change. Taken together, the article provides crucial information for change enthusiasts to get firsthand information to start learning about how organizations can bring about objective changes.
